Has been teaching for 32 years mostly in Saint Petersburg, Florida and one year in Plattsburg, Missouri.
Member of MTNA, Florida State Music Teachers Association , & Greater Pinellas Music Teachers Association
Has 3 children. A boy 36 and 25 years old. And the youngest (a girl) is 21 years old. Marilyn is also a grandmother to 3 beautiful girls with one of them currently living in Thailand.
Favorite foods: Italian, Thai, Middle Eastern. (Marilyn’s grandmother (Lulu) was Syrian and her great Aunt Mary married into an Italian family). Marilyn loved Aunt Mary’s homemade spaghetti and sauce and Lulu’s many Syrian dishes.
Started taking the violin at the age of 30 and took for quite a few years.
Started taking the cello at the age of 40 with her youngest daughter and took for quite a few years.
Marilyn wishes she could play the violin or cello equally well as the piano.
Marilyn took Clarinet from 5th grade-9th grade.
Marilyn and her husband Cory took adult ballet classes and some private ballet lessons at Kansas City Ballet. Ballet is extremely hard!!
Marilyn is a cleaning fanatic.
Marilyn and Cory work out regularly and try to make it to the gym a minimum of 4-5 times a week.
Marilyn loves to read biographies, philosophy, psychology, religious/Christian based books, travel, architecture, decorating and books on weightlifting. She also enjoys music and educational books.
Marilyn & Cory are obsessed with old homes and used to own one built in 1888 located in Plattsburg, Missouri. It is listed on the National Historic Registry. On the other end of the spectrum, Cory and Marilyn love the Mid-Century Modern style and currently owns a "one-owner" home built in 1964.

My Dad (Walter Steve Cullum). He was my biggest supporter in music. He loved when I played piano for the family.
